Le Palais is approached via an avenue of oak trees, and is surrounded by 45 acres of its own calm french countryside that allows for privacy and relaxation. However, it is uniquely positioned on the fringe of one of France’s most beautiful villages, Verteuil-sur-Charente. It is easy to walk or cycle the one kilometre to the beautiful village along its own little section of the Compostela. With its restaurants, bars, beautiful walks, canoeing and world class fly fishing, there is plenty to enjoy very close by.

Le Palais is a beautiful and historic fortified Manoir originally built over 400 years ago as a resting place for monks and pilgrims walking the Compostela de Santiago. The route still today passes through the land, however, Le Palais is now a unique and comfortable resting place for all not just those on the 3500km journey to Spain!

The Manoir is not your typical draughty Chateau, Will and Jasmine have renovated the house completely with comfort in mind, while retaining the huge original stone fireplaces, high ceilings and parquet floors, there are state of the art ecological heating, hot water, and waste water systems, double glazing and Wifi. Guests can enjoy luxurious handmade french kings size beds, natural cotton sheets and cosy wool duvets across all the guest rooms, this all helps to ensure that your stay will be as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

Jasmine and Will go above and beyond to ensure your holiday is as enjoyable as possible. The service they offer is not stuffy and uptight but remains relaxed and unpretentious, creating a family and friends friendly environment for all to enjoy whether you’re just stopping for a night or if you have taken the whole house for the week.
