Many people may know Jasmine and Will from their years at the Anchorstone Cafe in South Devon. Their family restaurant was and continues today to be hugely successful. After 20 years at the Anchorstone, they decided it was time for a change. After exploring their options they decided to move lock, stock and barrel to France just before Brexit in late 2020. After 12 months of searching they fell upon Le Palais.

‘’Our criteria for our search were, we thought, fairly simple: a modest house and not a crumbling chateau, surrounded by its own land for privacy and room for Jasmine’s horses but within walking distance of a village, with facilities such as bars and restaurants and no more than 5 hours from the Channel coast. We very quickly found that these were going to be very very hard to fulfil. After much searching, in the spring of 2021 we found Le Palais!’’

Jasmine and Will have been able to capitalise on their years of experience in the hospitality world, managing to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for guests to enjoy. They focus on making sure their guests have everything they need for an enjoyable time. Whether it is a basket for a walk into the village to the market, bikes to explore the beautiful Charentaise sunflower filled countryside, or an extravagant day out tasting wines in Saint-Emilion and Bordeaux or cognac in Cognac!

Jasmine learned her culinary skills working in her families restaurant The Anchorstone Cafe in Devon. The Anchorstone is well known for serving local fresh ingredients, made into amazing dishes all served in a relaxed atmosphere. This relaxed approach will be replicated at Le Palais. Offering generous lazy morning breakfasts in the sunny courtyard and casual al fresco lunches around the pool, while ending the day with sumptuous evening meals and intimate feasts for family and friends to enjoy in the candlelit dining room.  Will has spent the last 20 years running the front of house at the Anchorstone ensuring everyone has the best time.
