Le Palais is situated on the fringe of the beautiful village of Verteuil-sur-Charente which is just 10 minutes from the N10 free motorway. The N10 is a key route that links Paris to Spain. With good road links, Le Palais is well placed to offer a huge variety of travel links.

Le Palais’ Chariot
At Le Palais, we have an 8 seater mini bus/Van that wherever possible will be available for airport and train station pickups and drop offs, please do let us know your requirements and we will do our best to accommodate.
Ferry and Drive
The sea ports of Saint Malo and Caen are an easy drive away at 4 and 4.5 hours drive time to the door, Roscoff is a little further west and offers a transfer time of 5.5 hours to Le Palais. The Eurotunnel port from the eastern side of the UK is a 6.5 hour drive after the 20 minute train journey.
For those heading to and from Spain, Le Palais is situated almost perfectly half way with only a ten minute detour from the N10 for a luxury and restful stop! Much like the pilgrims of the Compostela!
Train and Eurostar
Le Palais is just 25 minutes from the city of Angouleme, a beautiful fortified old town and a very conveniently placed mainline TGV station. All Eurostar and high speed TGV trains from London, Paris to Bordeaux stop at Angouleme.
With a London St Pancras to Angouleme travel time of just over 6 hours this option offers a fantastic travel route for those based in and around London city, booking ahead can offer some fantastic deals and offers.
Flights and Airports
Le Palais and its ease of access to the N10 means that we have many airports within easy reach. Poitiers the closest, offers daily flights from the Westcountry with Ryanair, and is just 40 minutes by car. Limoges is served well by Easyjet and is under an hour away from Le Palais. Bordeaux airport is around 1.5 hrs away and is served year round by many international airlines. Other airport options include La Rochelle, 1.5 hours and Nantes at 2.5 hours away. As always where ever possible the Le Palais Chariot will be available for airport pick-ups!
Walking-Cycling-trecking
The world famous Compostela de Santiago pilgrimage route runs through our land at Le Palais, in fact it is the original reason Le Palais was constructed by monks some 400 years ago, to serve as a resting place for weary pilgrims. If any guests are inspired by this 1000 mile route then perhaps we could be the perfect starting point? If not just take in the history and enjoy the 1km historical walk through the fields to the village!
